Original Blown Glass Vase by Glass Artists, Jon Biscan and Jes Kopitske, donated by Third Degree Glass Factory.
About The Artist
Jon Biscan is a homegrown glass blower who apprenticed his way into this career after observing a demo in 2004 at Third Degree Glass (TDG). He instantly was transfixed and knew he had to learn the trade. His initial fascination led him to devote several years to honing his talent, combining various techniques with his determination to become a professional glassblower.
Jon makes a wide variety of glass art, from large, solid sculptures to thin goblets and an array of vessels. He enjoys his role of "gaffer" (leader) for the TDG custom glass production team. He is always up for the challenge to making a piece that is different from anything he's made before, trying new techniques, and growing as an artist.
His artwork is inspired by the serenity and beauty he witnesses in daily life, from color patterns in nature like a phenomenal sunset to concepts like love and the connection among living things. If you look closely at this art, you can find these aspects of life reflected back though his forms and colors.
Silent auction winners must pick up their item at the "Canvas of Hope” event or arrange for pick up at a mutually scheduled date/time in advance with Hope Creates. Please contact Jeni Luhrs to schedule your pickup:
