"Life Choices" by Tarecka is a 17"x21" piece created at a Hope Creates "Make Your MARC" event.

Artist Statement:
"My art shows my energy and mood. It communicates that I am an evolving person with many emotions. I hope that people can see their own emotions reflected in my art. My emotions guide me–I make art in all moods. 

My guitar art represents the mistakes I’ve made. It serves as a reminder not to repeat them. As much as my art is a reminder of mistakes I’ve made, something I love about it is that I can’t mess up when I’m doing art. Whatever I do is good. 

Music has always been the easiest way for me to express my feelings. Since I did this class, now I can create my own music to express myself. I’m excited about using music to express my feelings without using words. 

Music and art are good tools for communication, if you pay attention. I had a fixed mindset at first, but now I have a growth mindset. I’m a more positive person since taking this class."
